PTA Bylaws Updates

Dear PTA Members,

This year, Mapleton Elementary PTA is required to update its Bylaws. After reviewing our current Bylaws with the Executive Committee, some amendments have been proposed. Attached are the proposed amendments, as well as a copy of the complete updated Bylaws. These Bylaws will be officially voted on at the general membership meeting held on November 10, 2020 at 9:30am in the school lunchroom.

Amendments were previously requested to be posted at least 30 days before the election.

Feb. 7th: Box Tops Store

Feb. 18th-19th: Class Spelling Bees

Each class will send the top three finalists/spellers to the school finals which will be Friday, Feb. 21st at 9:30 for 3rd and 4th grades and 1:30 for 5th and 6th grades. Individual class spelling bees will take place either Feb. 18th or 19th (each teacher will set the date and time). The three finalists will be contacted by the afternoon of the 19th. Happy Spelling!

Jan. 14th: PTA General Membership Meeting, 9:30am. All PTA members are invited and children are always welcome.

Jan. 13-17th: White/Red Ribbon Week

This will be a fun week reminding students to be Drug Free and Media Smart.

Dec. 6th: Box Tops Store

Remember to send clipped and unexpired Box Tops to school with your students on the first Friday of every month. They can use them to purchase prizes and treats during lunch and the school benefits from the money earned from turning in the Box Tops! Also, there’s the new BOX TOP app where you can scan your receipts for points. Super Easy!!

Dec. 21st-Jan. 1st: No School—Christmas Break

This year all entry forms will be submitted online at shorturl.at/fivA9 Please have this done by tomorrow morning,Tuesday, Oct. 8th. Your child will also submit their project for judging tomorrow morning. No need to turn them in before school…just take the project to class and then students will be called down first thing in the morning to turn them in. Good luck!
