Come support our Scholastic Book Fair!  It is in room 12 and will be open Monday, March 13th-Thursday, March 16th, including during SEP Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Please join us in the basement tomorrow, Tuesday, March 14th at 9:30 a.m. for our general PTA membership meeting.  Snacks and door prizes will be provided and children are welcome!!

The Box Tops Challenge has begun!

Last month we brought in over 2,000 box tops! We are getting closer to our goal of 10,000.

Our next box tops store is this Friday, March 3rd during lunch.  Remember we only have 2 more stores left to meet our goal so that we can see pies being thrown into 3 faculty members’ faces!

Each class, grades 3-6, will send the top 3 spellers to the school finals which will be held on

February 24
1:00 for 3^rd & 4^th grades
2:00 for 5^th & 6^th grades

Individual class spelling bees will be February 22, times set by each teacher.

This month our school is hosting the regional PTA meeting.  Because of this, the meeting will NOT be held on the usual 2nd Tuesday in the basement, but instead on Wednesday, February 15th at 9:30am in the gym.

We look forward to recognizing someone special at our school, seeing a performance from the school play and more! Refreshments and snacks will be provided.  Everyone is invited and children are welcome!! We hope to see you there.

January 23-27 is Red & White Ribbon Week!

We want to teach our students how to make healthy choices for their mind and their body.  We will teach them to protect themselves from things that are addictive–drugs and online behaviors.  We will encourage them to “Say No” to substances or behaviors that don’t help them live healthy and happy.

On Monday, January 23rd students can pledge to keep their mind and body strong and clean.  After signing the pledge they will receive a wristband.  This wristband can be worn all week to serve as a reminder to be Drug Free and Media Smart!

Students are encouraged to dress up in support of the daily themes:

Monday: “Team Up to Keep Our Minds and Bodies Healthy”
Team Day–wear your favorite team gear or your school shirt.

Tuesday: “Give Drugs and Bad Media the Boot”
Western Day–wear jeans, cowboy boots, bandanas, etc.

Wednesday: “We’re Too Smart to Harm our Mind or Body”
Nerd Day–wear suspenders, glasses, pocket protectors, etc.

Thursday: “We’re Crazy About Being Healthy from Head to Toe”
Crazy Hair and Sock Day–wear crazy hair and/or crazy socks.

Friday: “Follow Your Dreams by Making Good Choices”
Pajama Day–wear your favorite pajamas and/or slippers.

Remember to bring your clipped Box Tops to school this Friday, January 6th!  There will be lots of fun things the students can “buy” in the basement.

Also, please plan to join us on Tuesday, January 10th at 9:30am in the basement for our PTA General Membership meeting.  We will discuss Red & White Ribbon week, the PTA fundraiser and more.  As always, refreshments, door prizes and great company will be there.

Starting December 2nd look for the teachers’ “Wish Upon a Star” trees outside their classroom doors.   Trees will be up until December 19th.  You or your child can take stars (Just leave plenty for everyone else!) and purchase the items the teachers need for their classrooms to give to them as Christmas gifts.  What a fun and useful way to show our teachers some love this holiday season!

Next Box Tops store is Friday, December 2nd, during lunch in the Basement.

We appreciate everyone who attended our October PTA General Membership Meeting.  Kara Woolworth and Katie Holley each won a $10 Chick-fil-A gift card door prize and everyone enjoyed delicious fall treats!  Please join us for our next meeting on November 8th at 9:30am in the school basement.
